2015 Light Show
Lights
For our first year, we covered most of our bushes and trees in lights. We had strips of lights running down our yard to make the lights look like they were playing the music like a piano would. We had two layers of icicle lights on our roof to have a jumping effect.

Controller
The controller we used was a basic controller that we got on amazon called "Mr. Christmas Lights and Sounds of Christmas." The controller had six channels with 20 pre-programmed songs. we hooked up each channel to different elements in the display to make it look like there were more channels. The controller worked very well for our first year lightshow.

2016 Light Show
Lights
This year we had a very similar design as last year for the lights. Our biggest addition was the Emmanuel sign on the roof. It is 15 feet wide and stands 6 feet high. It is made with PVC pipe that we painted and some plastic netting that we zip tied the rope lights to. We also wrapped the two front trees with lights and we added two pixel arches.

Controllers
This year we used two 16 channel Light O Rama controllers for the traditional Christmas lights and one Falcon controller for the pixel arches.

Software
For programming the lights, we used the sequencing software called Vixen 3. We had three songs programmed for this year: Amazing Grace, Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree, and Carol of the Bells.

Sound
To get sound to people inside their cars, we added an FM transmitter so that they can tune into the station with their car radio. For people outside, we used two marine speakers by the sidewalk that were connected to a radio that was tuned into our station.
